BIOGRAPHY
2007 – 2012
The Beginning
After the band was formed in 2007 and playing several shows in local venues and bars, Deanmoore was ready to release their first EP “When Everything Seems Familiar” in 2009. Releasing this EP was the band’s first attempt to do everything themselves. Be self-sufficient as much as possible, this would become a preferred way of working for many recordings to come.
In the summer of 2010, their second EP titled: “The Storm Is Over” was released, which got airplay on multiple national radio stations including 3FM, KINK and Radio 538. In the following year the band released their EP “Caught In The Moment” followed by a tour of 16 shows through The Netherlands and Germany. The EP was very well received and resulted in the opportunity to perform live on national radio (3FM) in 2012.
2012 – 2018
Hiatus and Illusions
After the show at Paaspop 2012 the band was in disarray. With Nils gone to deal with some personal problems and former guitarist Arjen Stortelder leaving the group, things had to be figured out… Continue or close the book here? It would take almost two years for the band to return to the scene. In October of 2013 the band played an invitation only show for family and friends at their local music studio, to announce their comeback as a three piece and had evolved, matured and grown and this would reflect in their more progressive sound. Where previous EPs were written, recorded and played live, the band chose a different approach this time around by playing the new songs live and letting them evolve to their best form. Their live shows got noticed and the band won the “Achterhoek Band Competition” which got them a spot at the Huntenpop festival in the summer of 2014.
In the end of 2014 the power trio went back into the studio to start recording their fourth EP “Illusions”. Self-recorded, and mixed and mastered by Jochem Jacobs (Split Second Sound, former Textures guitarist), the sound was raw, energetic and more complex than any of their previous work. The band organized a sold out release show at a local concert hall and the “Illusions” EP got lots of encouraging reviews, like:
“Wonderful dynamic rock with a sophisticated balance of quiet passages and pounding riffs which will give you neck pain if you are not careful. You can’t keep your head still.” – progpraat.com
“Illusions is a well-produced EP with great pieces of music” – 3voor12.vpro.nl
2018 – 2020
A new home
2020 – 2021
Guess who’s back?
In April of twenty-twenty Deanmoore announced their first of two upcoming singles entitled: “Cannot Run / Cannot Hide” which was released on May 1st, 2020. It became the band’s most popular Spotify track to date. IndieXL awarded the song “the best Dutch single of the week” and the track got added to almost one hundred playlists on Spotify.
The second release “Three Steps” is a seven minute progrock roller coaster exploring different genres, tempos and moods. It’s influenced by modern progressive rock bands such as Karnivool, Vennart, Leprous, Agent Fresco and Oceansize. It sounds heavy, gentle, dramatic and cheerful at the same time.
The big question is: how will it make you feel?

"Following the Yes-influenced track ‘Cannot Run / Cannot Hide’, Deanmoore adopts a more contemporary stance with ‘Three Steps’. Elegantly traversing changes in tempo and style, Nils shows Deanmoore’s more philosophical nature in the witty lyricism. The diverse tones throughout ‘Three Steps’ is provocative, but to a point where you feel confused about your emotions. Are you happy or sad? Are you scared or empowered? A great song lets you feel everything while gasping for breath after the soul-stirring single ends. This is ‘Three Steps’."

Sweet!
"Deanmoore takes you on a dramatic and anthemic journey through the moods of ‘Three Steps’. The 7-minute single is broken into three parts that take you from a spiral into despair to empowerment and crawling out of depression to end with inner peace. The music and vocals match the emotional journey with gentle movements, soaring anthemic power and a gentle dip to ease you out."

"A production that tends to exasperate the high frequencies that have the ability to make the overall sound crystal clear and unusually positive." Thanks Edgar Allan Poets!
